Walvis Bay Neopaint Speed Week 2004
With wind in the 35 knots gusting up to the 40s Dirk Hanel managed to set a new German Speed Record on Thursday 21/10/2004. with the new North Kiteboarding Rhino 05 9 qm he blazed in 40.05 knots over the 500 meter speed course in Walvis Bay, Namibia.
With this result Dirk is the 4th fastest Kitesurfer in the world and was able to win the overall competion of the 2004 Walvis Bay Speedweek. The top ten of the Kite Speed Circus where at the strat of the speedweek.
The winning board was designed together with Harry Brehm ( Fantic Kiteboard Shaper) and Olaf MartingĀ ( new worldrecordholder 41.67 knots) Team NKB.
