Mondial du Vent Leucate 2005
The first Kitespeed Event of the year is over and again Dirk is in the first row. Windconditions changing from 20 knots to 55 knots made it very challenging for the riders. Dirk managed to get second Place behind Sebastian Cattelan in the Overall ranking.
In the best speed it was only Dirk and Manu Taub that managed to get above the 39,5 knots and Dirk actually got quite close to his own German Record from 40.05 knots.
Looks like the new boards and kites where working extremly well for Dirk. Together with Olaf Marting( worldrecord holder) and Harry Brehm ( Fantaic Kiteboard shaper) the new generation speedboards turned out really good. With the new Vegas 05 seven square meter Dirk got his fastest run with 39.61 knots over the 500 meter distance in Leucate.
