The first Kitespeed Event of the year is over and again Dirk is in the first row. Windconditions changing from 20 knots to 55 knots made it very challenging for the riders. Dirk managed to get second Place behind Sebastian Cattelan in the Overall ranking.

With wind in the 35 knots gusting up to the 40s Dirk Hanel managed to set a new German Speed Record on Thursday 21/10/2004. with the new North Kiteboarding Rhino 05 9 qm he blazed in 40.05 knots over the 500 meter speed course in Walvis Bay, Namibia.
